I'm one of those strange, rare people who likes lists and organization but I'm truly not very organized. I'm going to tell you about my organization and how that all plays out in my daily life. You've all seen some of it on this blog. Anything to make my life easier.
School: So when classes begin, I buy binders and folders and they must match, so if I buy a blue binder, I need to have a blue folder and blue notebooks to go with it. That will be for 1 class. Each class is a color and everything must match. Sometimes I have to have a separate binder for a final or something and you got it, it needs to match. This is so that if I see a blue binder I know exactly what class it is for and so when I'm putting my book bag together for class, I know that I have everything.
I have a shelf on my book case that has school stuff, my school books, my notebooks, this is so I can have a place to store stuff when I'm not using it for a class, so that I can have a place to sit stuff when I'm doing homework.
I should probably not mention but I will. That in each of my class binders is a monthly calendar that I sit and fill out so I know when things are due for that class. I also have a calendar in my book bag that has all the assignments for all my classes. Told you I like lists and organization.
Calendars: I have the calendar in my book bag for school. I also have Cozi for my computer, my laptop, my phone, and I print a copy for the fridge. I really like this program because I can add stuff wherever I am at the time and it syncs with all the other places.
That isn't all. I also have a little book in my purse that I keep a hard copy of. I'm so afraid that I will lose it that I keep a hard copy too. I also have started a family binder. You guessed it, there is a calendar there and I keep the original communication there as well, this use to be on the fridge but that would get cluttered very fast. We'll see how the binder works out, I might find that it's to much to keep up with but we'll see.
Most people would probably find it a little obsessive but it works for me. I don't know if it's a controlling thing or just a strange thing about me but I have such a busy life that I need to make sure everything is on the schedule and accounted for because it is very easy to forget an appointment (I've done that) or to over schedule for one day (Though usually this is not my fault, it's usually just the way the activities are scheduled).
My husband likes that I have everything on the calendar and yes he has a Cozi app on his phone too. That way when I add something he can know right away what is going on. It also helps him to know if something is planned if his job wants to schedule him for additional projects.
Lists: I do many hand written, printed, and other kinds of lists. Some are for my personal use, some are for my children, and some are for my husband. Everyone has a chore list, there is a Honey Do list, a must call list and my personal lists. Yep, I'm big on lists too. Soon I will be adding a don't forget list for my children since someone walks out of the house without show and share or snack or whatever they need.
I love organization, just don't look at my desk.
