It's been awhile. I'm not a very good blogger. One of my goals for 2013 is to do better with that. It's just hard to find time in my busy life for it.
So what's been going on. I made Dean's List again. All A's for last semester. You know I did the college thing right out of high school and did not appreciate it like I do now. I could barely make B's in my classes the first time through and to get 4 A's is amazing to me. I find that I want it more now. It's more important because I know what it's like out there without a degree and I could not have the amazing job I have without something. So it matters more. I don't know if this holds true for everyone but it does for me.
I also enjoy that my kids can visibly see that I'm accomplishing something. It's not always fun when I don't get to put them on their bus or get them off or tuck them in at night but I make sure I make up for that with them. It's not forever either, it's just for a few weeks and then things will change again.
There is many other things going on as well. I've decided to redo my children's bedrooms. My daughter is getting to that age where Princess's are out and Tink is kind of a thing of the past but she still likes pink and purple. So I'm doing her walls in pink and purple and some spots of green. It's going to be a room that even with the pink and purple can still grow with her. It's weird now to sit in her room and realize that she's growing up. The things I remember from her childhood are now missing, her doll house, her toys, her kitchen and has been replaced by a desk, a vanity and a book shelf (Well she's always had the book shelf but the books are changing). She has also kind of taken over my craft room that is up there as well and so that room will also be getting a make over. It's going to be the same colors but flipped. So where her room will have pink, white chair rail, purple. The other room will have purple, white chair rail, pink. My husband's new tool he got for Christmas will be getting a workout in that room. I might do the one wall in completely green too, I think it would look awesome in green when you come up the stairs. We'll see though.
My son, he wants his room to be cars. He is still little and though those same signs of growing up are happening in his room too, they're not as bad. He wants blue and green. Not 2 colors that I think will go well but we're separating them by a road pattern boarder. The Disney stuff is on the way out for him too but he loves cars and superheros. So I'm going with it. With a few minor things, I think his room will grow with him too. We're redoing his carpet, the animals have it clawed up and it's coming out. I'm going to put in a wood laminate floor and then add a rug, a road one for the moment. That will also be easy to change as he gets older.
I'm trying to be smart about it and do thing that I know will be easy to change as they grow. Now to get started on that.
I started back to classes this week. 15 weeks of classes and I'm done well with this degree. I can't believe it'll soon be time for me to walk across that stage in cap and gown. It'll be about 10 years after the first time I was suppose to do it. Though that was for a 4 year degree and this will only be for a 2. Then after a year off, back to school. Guess, that means it's time to start thinking about where I want to go.
A lot of things are changing in my life. A lot is going on and as usual, I'm very busy. I like being busy though.
My resolution this year was to do more things for me. So one of my first steps is figuring out how to lose some weight before I walk across that stage. It's not easy but I'm going to try.
