My desk

I admit that I'm not the most organized person.  My personal desk in my house is usually covered in anything you can imagine.   I just found  a valentine's day lollipop, don't worry it wasn't opened, on it.   It's probably one of the most disorganized places in my house.  Why?  I'm not so sure of the answer.  I wish I could tell you something deep but more than likely it's just convenient.  If the kids hand me school papers on my desk it goes.  If it's something that has to go back to school, I just sign it and put it back in their book bags.  It could get lost on my desk if I don't.  

The funny thing about my desk is I don't really use it for much.  My computer and the phone are on it.   My basket is on it and that's it.  It's an old, small, green desk that I adore.  Well I actually hate the green color and have thought about upgrading it but the desk is really old and the last time I tried to take paint off furniture, I failed, miserably.  The other factor is if it's an antique, it belonged to my husband's great-grandmother before it came to me.  I would love to strip the paint, change the hardware and have a functional desk.  I've been weighing the possible antique with the look of the desk.   The beautiful cherry wood would look so much better in the room the desk is in and the hardware could really use an updating.    There's a drawer that keeps giving me problem too and I need to fix it and not sure how.  

Still I love this desk.   It had 2 small drawers on each side, 2 medium sizes below that and 2 large on the bottom and one in the center.  It's a beautiful desk.  It serves my purpose beautifully and has since I got it back in my original college days.  It's been through 4 moves with me. To my apartment in college, home from college, to my own house and to my new house.   Not everything I've owned has moved so much, except maybe the dressers we use currently.  

I can't imagine ever getting rid of this desk for something more modern.  Yes it's the smallest of all the desks in our house, yes it's usually cluttered.  I have no real space to do much but I have a lot of storage in this desk, I really love the style of the desk, I would love to change the desks color and the pulls just to give it a fresh look.  

My desk does say a lot about me though.  It says that I lead a very busy life, but that it's stable and solid.
